How Knights Flooring’s new website and hero video are set to drive showroom visits and ^{streamline product sales}

When Knights Flooring initially approached us to redesign and rebuild their website they were in need of a change and wanted a site that would grow at the same speed as their business and allow them to capitalise on all their new offerings that the old site had previously outgrown.

The old site had become outdated and they needed a refresh as you can see from the old site below:

I knew straight away what the old Knights website was lacking, and that was clarity along with a clear direction.

My goal for the new site became creating one clear direction through the site that breaks up into multiple paths depending on what your interested in, creating a seamless experience for the user and getting more people to the end goal of becoming a customer, whether that be online or in person by visiting the showroom.

This means that even with Knights Flooring having multiple offerings and services it's still easy for the customer to find what they need.

And flooring is a very visual thing, so when Michael approached me again a few weeks into the project asking for a promo video to be made showcasing some work they had done on a recently built home in Guernsey I knew this was going to make the website stand out and give us a clear attention grabbing element that would hook peoples attention and keep them on the site.

When we agreed to do this though I had no idea the problems that would arise, from lost and broken footage to Iframe errors that nearly put a halt to the 'Make me a rug' feature of the site before it even got started.

Believe it or not the broken footage actually led to us hiring Max who is now one of the most valuable members of our team, he came in for a coding interview and I ended up telling him about the broken footage.

Turns our Max is studying a media degree at Brighton Uni and was able to fix the footage in no time.

Another important element of this site is the product library, on top of offering flooring services Knights Flooring also offer products to take care of your floor and they needed the content management system to let them easily add and remove products and change any pricing as and when they need.

Now Michael uploads a product in a few clicks and it deploys live to the site where the users can pick what they need and order.

Once they click order they land right on the booking form ready to make their order directly online or get directions to the showroom to handle it in person.

The same goes for their portfolio of work, they have done so many amazing projects around the island and they needed to not only be able to showcase them properly and give potential customers all the information they need but also update and change them easily as they grow.

Again with a few simple clicks Michael can upload a project and a page will be generated for that project as soon as he clicks publish.

We even provided them with full training on how the content management system works.

The result is a video and website that generates traffic for Knights Floorings showroom, online products sales, quote requests and rug sales and gives them the control and update and manage it as they grow.
